Occupational Therapy in Primary Care

Primary care (PC) is at the forefront of change, and occupational therapy (OT) can be an asset to the health care team; however, this practice setting requires a shift in the way occupational therapists deliver care. Dr. Muir will describe her vision for OT in PC with examples from her experience providing direct OT treatment in primary care settings during the past six years, including work in a geriatric clinic, a multi-physician family practice medical residency clinic, an ALS Center for Excellence, a university student health and counseling center, and a patient-centered medical home. Join us to learn about this exciting opportunity to contribute to primary care.
