Law Enforcement Cold Case Training and Symposium

This specialized symposium equips law enforcement professionals and advocates with the advanced tools needed to reactivate stalled investigations. Through an in-depth examination of cold case investigations and structured case review methodologies, participants will learn how to identify new investigative leads by applying modern forensic techniques, analytical strategies, and emerging technologies.

The curriculum addresses today's investigative challenges by emphasizing cross-agency collaboration, information sharing, and multidisciplinary approaches to solving complex cases. Grounded in a compassionate, victim-centered philosophy, the training also explores the ethical use of media and public advocacy, providing practical guidance on engaging communities and true crime media to generate credible leads while preserving the integrity of active investigations and honoring victims and their families.

Advocates who attend the Virtual Cold Case Symposium will receive an official Certificate of Completion and become inaugural members of the National Cold Case Advocate Network (NCCAN), a new professional community dedicated to advancing ethical, informed, and effective advocacy in unresolved missing persons and homicide cases. The cost of symposium registration includes a one-year membership to NCCAN, giving participants continued access to educational resources, networking opportunities, collaborative discussions, future training, and professional development throughout the year.

As members of NCCAN, advocates will join a growing national network committed to strengthening partnerships between advocates, law enforcement, forensic experts, and the families of the missing and murdered. Together, members will help elevate professional standards, encourage responsible public engagement, and support the pursuit of truth and justice for victims whose cases remain unsolved.

Attendance is free for all sworn law enforcement professionals. Law enforcement officers wishing to attend should register by emailing alllostgirls@gmail.com with their name, agency, rank/title, and contact information to reserve their place at the symposium.
