Now in its 70th year—and its third year at the University of Arkansas—the Acarology Summer Program continues its long tradition of training researchers, technicians, and students from around the world in mite identification and biology. Our expert instructors provide hands-on training in collection, identification, and management, using specimens from the University of Arkansas collections. With immersive coursework, extensive microscope work, and direct access to leading acarologists, this program offers an unparalleled opportunity to deepen your knowledge of mites. Program Details

The Acarology Summer Program is an intensive learning experience, with full-day schedules consisting of lectures and hands-on microscope work. Participants should be prepared for long hours of detailed observation to make the most of the program. All necessary materials are provided.

Housing & Logistics

Participants have the option to stay in suite-style dormitories on the University of Arkansas campus, just a short walk from the classroom in the Agricultural Building. Each suite includes private bedrooms, shared bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and laundry facilities. Those who prefer alternative accommodations are responsible for their own transportation to and from campus. Meals are not included in the housing cost.
