Substance Abuse Disorders

Substance Abuse Disorders

— Offered by University of Arkansas School of Social Work —

These two courses will provide participants with basic knowledge of how to identify, assess for, and treat substance use disorders. As rates of addiction, most notably opioid addiction, have risen to epidemic proportions, practitioners in all disciplines will encounter clients who are struggling with chemical dependency and/or who have been impacted by this disease. Having a tool kit for approaching this client group is important and relevant to the work that we, as helping professionals, do. The information will also be relevant for licensing/certification exams, and the training hours will count as CEU’s for re-certification.
