Advanced Manufacturing uses innovative technological processes to be more efficient, effective, and responsive. 

This course prepares participants for entry-level employment in advanced manufacturing industries by providing knowledge in safety practices, blueprint reading, material science, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, shop math, efficiency concepts, and quality assurance procedures.

 

Training goals

  • Learn Lean Manufacturing concepts and their importance to advanced manufacturing 
  • Understand technical drawings and recognize informational parts: i.e., Blueprints, 3D, Assembly, Isometric, etc. 
  • Recognize manufacturing materials, their differences, manufacturing methods, and proposed material applications 
  • Use math for shop calculations, and measuring techniques to assure precision
  • Perform shop duties safely and effectively by recognizing common hazards in a manufacturing environment
