This six-month, online certificate program prepares participants for entry-level employment in today’s manufacturing industries. Each step of the program helps you build your knowledge, develop skills, and gain the confidence you need to follow workplace instructions to create products.

 

What Is It?

Modern manufacturing, also called advanced manufacturing, describes how workers use the latest knowledge, innovative practices, and precision machine technology to create current and new products in efficient and safe ways.

• How to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions, which include blueprints, assembly documents, etc.
• The different types of materials (metals, ceramics, composites and plastics) and different production methods.
• The latest manufacturing strategies, like “Lean Manufacturing,” to improve workplace communication, smooth workflows, and enhance production.
• Math skills, geometry skills, and measurement tools used in the creation of products and the evaluation of their quality.
• Workplace safety and environmental impact.
