Mediation and Conflict Resolution


Conflict is part of every aspect of our lives – work and personal. Negotiation involves a wide range of techniques by which we work through issues that divide. In this course, you will be exposed to various strategies for conflict resolution with an emphasis on merits-based negotiation. You will also explore when and why a third party mediator may contribute significantly to achieving a “wise agreement” – a mutually satisfying resolution.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize conflict as normal and healthy process
  • Identify various techniques of conflict resolution – and develop a sense as to when to use one strategy over another
  • Understand the significance of merits-based negotiations to solve conflict
  • Be able to advocate for a facilitative mediation when appropriate
