This class is designed for business owners, attorneys, managers, entrepreneurs, and consumers in various industry sectors to learn research techniques for better risk and brand management. Companies make important business decisions based on countless hours of research, vetting, and monitoring strategies.  Much of this information is available online from publicly available sources. Learn how to effectively and efficiently uncover relevant facts crucial to market expansion, asset protection, and risk mitigation.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn strategies and trends for identifying online brand reputation and general background checks for yourself, competitors, potential board members and employees - including civil history, criminal records, news clips and social media presence.
  • Arm yourself with relevant information before purchasing property
  • Learn how to protect your interests by utilizing common public records databases (verify professional licensing, research nonprofits, financial reports etc.)
  • Understand the general framework of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, which gives citizens the right to request and review government records and information.
